Since bee decline began, beekeepers have detected many different diseases causing collapses of bee populations. One of the major diseases that is killing bees is a parasite called Varroa. Varroa is a parasitic mite that affects the outside of a bee. This parasite attaches to a bee and attacks it's Apis Cerana and Apis Mellifera. It weakens the bee by sucking out its Hemolymph. The Varroa virus also makes it more susceptible to other diseases. There are many other diseases that can make bees sick. These include Colony Collapse Disorder (CCD), small hive beetles, Deformed Wing Virus, and Nosema Virus. These are only a few of the many diseases that are affecting bees today. Diseases are one of the major causes of bee decline affecting our world today.
