1) Proposing to build bee-friendly gardens around our community:

If bee-friendly gardens were built around our community, bees would have more areas where they could build hives, and pollinate flowers. This would help the bees, because they could stay in a smaller area, and still have all of the things they need to survive. Some of the flowers that could be included in these bee-friendly gardens are Mahonia, Crocus, Daffodil, Primrose, Bluebell, and Winter Honeysuckle. These are just a few of the many bee-friendly plants that could be placed in a community garden.

2) Promote bee safe yards:

A bee safe yard is a yard that contains flowers that are helpful for the bees. These plants also have to be safe for the bees to pollinate. 53% of plants bought at a nursery contain neonicotinoids, an invisable, and deadly chemical to a bee. To make sure your yard is bee safe, reqest neonicotinoid free plants when purchasing plants for a garden. Promoting bee safe yards around our community could help the bee population in our area thrive, by providing them with a safe spot to live, and pollinate.
