Due to worldwide urbanization and development, many bee-friendly environments have diminished. As bee habitat decreases, bee population decreases.  Bees need flowers and other plants so that they can pollinate. When bees pollinate they are also getting their meal for the day. Bees get their protein and carbohydrates from flowers and other plants, so without them, they would starve. This contributes greatly to bee decline and makes it much worse. One type of habitat that is very beneficial to bees is hedgerows. Hedgerows not only supply bees with foraging chances but also gives them nesting sites. If habitat loss continues, bees won't have any of these opportunities. Bees need the right habitat to survive. If these are taken away from them by urbanization, they will have no chance of survival.
